Why

We list some examples of classification

  • Medical Diagonosis. An individual arrives at the hospital presenting a set of symptoms, which may possibly be attributed to one of $K$ medical conditions. Predict which medical condition they have.
  • Fraudulent Transaction Detection. A payment processor has the location and amount for a proposed transaction, as well as past transaction history of a particular credit card. Is this transaction fraudulent?
  • Disease variant prediction. Given a particular variant data for a set of individuals with and without a given disease. Predict whether an unseen variant is deleterious.
